A little late, but ok. Just the News, on Friday, January 20th., published this headline, “Authorization of military force against Mexican cartels fueling fentanyl crisis gaining support.”
A resolution introduced by GOP Reps. Mike Waltz and Dan Crenshaw authorizing military action against Mexican drug cartels fueling the deadly fentanyl epidemic sweeping the U.S. is gaining more cosponsors.
According to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), “fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances kill approximately 80,000 Americans every year and is the leading cause of death for American men between the ages of 18 and 45.”
If passed and signed into law, the resolution would give President Biden the authority “to use military force against cartels based on their fentanyl trafficking, production, and distribution; their use of force against US law enforcement and/or military, law enforcement and/or military of a neighboring country, and/or to gain control of territory to use for their criminal enterprise.”
National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based in Harrison, Arkansas, Thomas Robb, on Friday spoke from his office saying, “Military force should have been on our Southern border as soon as the Biden Administration opened it to these undesirables. Free to just waltz into our country are not only cartel members, but also other non-white gangs pushing the drugs on our streets, sex trafficers, and other assorted deplorables. Why now would the subject of securing our border come up after millions of these 3rd World criminals have already been allowed to just walk into America? Why is our government afraid to bring China into this equation? Currently, China is the primary source of fentanyl and fentanyl related substances trafficked into the United States, yet only less than one kilogram in weight of 90% pure fentanyl is seized from China yearly. Yes, most definately it’s time to show military force at our Southern border, but lets not sweep China’s involvement under the carpet.”
