It seems an openly gay judge in Texas says she was forced to remove a rainbow pride flag from her courtroom after a defense lawyer filed a complaint about it.
Judge Rosie Speedin Gonzalez told NBC News that she was told to remove the flag, and a traditional Mexican cloth called a sarape, as well as rainbow patterned eyeglasses, a pen, and a mouse pad, after the State Commission on Judicial Conduct conducted an investigation into allegations of judicial misconduct.
Gonzales, who presides over Bexar County Court 13 in San Antonio, Texas called the situation xenophobic and gender-based discrimination.
“It felt like they were trying to shame me and bully me into not expressing who I truly am,” she told NBC News.
“Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party, based in Harrison Arkansas said, “America and it’s judicial system was structured and set up by our forefathers, based on God’s natural laws. That being said, normal people consider Sodomy to be just plain creepy. It is a perversion and abhorrent to American traditional Christian values” As to the Mexican sarape cloth, it has no business being in an American courtroom. If Gonzales is so proud of her Mexican heritage, then she should go to Mexico and be a judge in her own 3rd rate country.”
