Yesterday, Thanksgiving Day, the New York Post released the story, “Arkansas man receives racist letter over black Santa decoration outside home.”
An Arkansas man says he put up a black Santa on his lawn for Christmas to spread joy in his neighborhood — only to be left “extremely angry” after receiving a racist letter in which an anonymous person ordered him to remove the decoration.
Chris Kennedy said he has been putting up the 8-foot-tall inflatable outside his home in North Little Rock for three years, news station Fox16 reported.
“I’ve done this every year and haven’t had any issues,” Kennedy said.
The National Director of the Knights Party, based in Harrison Arkansas, Thomas Robb said, “In our White American culture, Santa Claus has never been portrayed as black. To put a ‘black’ Santa Claus in your yard for all to see, is no different than a White using blackface to portray a black. It’s just as racist.”
