Apparently, striving to educate yourself isn’t a good thing to some people. This headline, “San Diego Schools Say Giving Tests Is Racist“, from go2tutors.com, which was published on Saturday, August 6th.
In the fashion of other failing public schools that have implemented WOKE politics into their curriculum, the San Diego Unified school district is decrying tests as racist. The school’s trustee claims that measuring student ability through tests is “rooted in racism.” While some agree that standardized testing is not always the best method to determine student progress, tests in and of themselves come in many forms.
When most people think of testing they imagine students sitting at desks filling in bubbles on multiple choice question sheets. In truth, this is just one form of testing that helps teachers to know whether students understand the material being taught. Essay writing is another form of testing which affords students the freedom to explore topics in their own words and support or oppose them using specific points to make an educated conclusion. San Diego school officials have yet to comment on this specific option, or others that offer flexible testing methods, like hands-on testing.
The National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrison, Arkansas, Thomas Robb said, “Now, because White children can academically advance faster and farther than most non-white students, education is now racist. Awhile back, in the California school system, teachers were told to grade students by race in mathematics, because of course, math is racist too. What it boiled down to was, if the teacher asked Mary (White) what 2+2 equaled, and she said 4, that was truly the correct answer, but if the teacher asked Toby (Black) this same question, and he said 2+2 equals ‘dis’ many, while holding up 3 fingers, because Toby is black, and academically not as advanced as Mary, his answer was also correct. Now what do you think will happen in America when these two children graduate? First of all, Toby, being black, will be considered first for most jobs, so eventually America will be taken over by uneducated people. I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this. It’s not hard to figure out.”
