President Joe Biden attempted to walk back his divisive rhetoric delivered Thursday night, when the commander-in-chief stood before Independence Hall flanked by Marines illuminated by blood-red lights like stormtroopers.
Two months before the November midterms, Biden went on a 25-minute tirade in which he branded his political opposition as an existential threat to democracy and the “soul of this nation.”
“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,” Biden said. “There’s no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country.”
The National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based in Harrison, Arkansas, Thomas Robb said, “This shows the cowardness of Joe Biden and his band of leftists. He threatens every single White, Christian, proud American with F-15 fighter jets, and the next day when he sees that he hasn’t ‘scared’ any of us, but only riled us up, he backpedals. The term ‘MAGA’ republicans has no credit to it. Myself, and the many members of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan have been fighting since 1956 to restore our great Nation to what our forefathers built it as, and intended it to remain as such, which is a White, Christian Nation, ruled by God’s laws, not man’s. We’re not the only organization that feels this way, but we are one of the few that are actually doing something to return America to its former glory. The hatred by some of Donald Trump has made many think that his slogan of ‘Make America Great Again’ was the first attempt at restoring America, but in reality, it is not.”
