‘A marriage is a union between 1 man, and 1woman’. There, what is so hard about this biblical fact? On Tuesday, November 22nd., The Federalist ran this headline, “The ‘Respect For Marriage’ Act Disrespects Faithful Americans.”
The U.S. Senate has begun debate on a same-sex marriage bill they call the “Respect for Marriage Act,” and senators are expected to cast a final vote on the legislation when they return after Thanksgiving. Proponents dubiously claim this bill provides religious liberty and conscience protection. They’re also making a contrived argument that the legislation is necessary to protect interracial marriage.
In its 1967 decision, Loving v. Virginia, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a state ban on interracial marriage because it was in clear violation of the equal protection and due process clauses of the 14th Amendment. The court rightfully struck a blow against racial discrimination, but its decision did not alter the nationwide consensus that marriage is a union of one man and one woman.
National Director Thomas Robb, of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based in Harrison, Arkansas spoke from the Christian Revival Center, which is also in Harrison, of which Mr. Robb is the Pastor of, saying, “I’ve been a Pastor for many years, so I have alot of biblical wisdom. The Bible clearly states what it takes to form a marriage union. It’s really simple, one man, and one woman. We know from what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah that God hates homosexuality, so that rules out any same sex marriages having any biblical truth that they’re ‘ok’ somehow. As well, Noah and his family were spared from the great flood, which some may not know this, because they were never taught it by the One-World churches, but they were spared because they were they only people left that hadn’t tainted their blood by miscegenation, which means race-mixing. This is also a biblical fact. This is why up until 1967, mixed race marriages were illegal. The Bible also tells us that God can not lie. It goes on to say that God can not change, which includes His mind. God is the same as He ever was, and He will remain that way indefinately. If you understand all that I’ve just said, you have to agree with me then, that homosexual marriages, and mixed-race marriages go against God’s will.”
