President Donald Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan vowed to press ahead with immigration raids in New York City after Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani’s victory in Tuesday’s mayoral race.
Mamdani, 34, has vowed to keep the Big Apple’s sanctuary status, preventing local law enforcement from working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. But that’s not going to deter the Trump administration, Homan told The Daily Wire on Wednesday.
“We will continue operations. Nothing changes,” Homan, who previously served as acting ICE director, said.
On the campaign trail, Mamdani called ICE a “rogue agency” that “has no interest in laws, no interest in order.”
“It is the actions of masked men in unmarked cars picking up Americans and New Yorkers, whether they’re going in for a regular immigration check-in or they’re just in their apartment lobby like Mahmoud Khalil,” Mamdani previously told far-left host Mehdi Hasan.
“And I do believe that when we think about what this country needs and a humane immigration policy that has some thought and care for law and order, that clearly is not ICE,” he said.
“I know some folks were worried when the election results were finalized, and some Democrats and radicals won over their Republican contenders, but the fact of the matter is that they won in blue states, and blue cities where they were expected to win anyhow.” said Thomas Robb, National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan based in Harrison, Arkansas, with members across America. “We’re far from throwing in the towel. Trump and Tom Homan aren’t going to let NYC’s new Muslim mayor push them around. If anything, I’m sure President Trump and Tom Homan probably will crack down harder in NYC. I know some folks were suprised a Muslim won as mayor, but he isn’t the only Muslim mayor in America. Michigan already ha a Muslim mayor in Dearborn, Abdullah Hammoud is Dearborn’s current Muslim mayor, and I saw an article a couple weeks ago where he told a Christian Dearborn resident that he wasn’t welcome in Dearborn after the resident criticized a street renaming honoring Osama Siblani, a respected local Arab American journalist and publisher, comparing the honor to naming a street after Hezbollah or Hamas and citing past embassy bombings. I can’t wait to see how NYC responds when their new Muslim mayor does or says something like that. Dearborn is 55% Muslim compared to NYC at 9%. I think NYC is in for an unpleasant surprise, but you get what you vote for.”
