It’s that time of year that schools will be the highlight of headlines, but not in a good way. On Friday, August 23. 2025, The Daily Wire punished an article with this headline, “Your Child’s School Might Still Be Pushing Transgender Ideology Despite Trump’s Orders.”
As the first day of school approaches, the pressing cultural issue that continues to rile parents and helped catapult Trump to the White House in November remains alive and well in hundreds of school districts across the country despite the president’s efforts to stamp it out.
During his first weeks in office, Trump signed a pair of executive orders threatening public schools with existential federal funding cuts if they refuse to root out “gender ideology,” including erasing it from the curriculum, banning males from girls’ sports teams and locker rooms, and no longer encouraging children’s “social transitions,” which can include using new pronouns, allowing students to use the bathrooms of the opposite sex, and hiding their transgender identities from parents.
“There’s a sort of coast-to-coast misconception about the fact that the cavalry’s arrived and all of these bad policies are suddenly being rescinded,” said Sarah Parshall Perry, vice president at Defending Education, which fights gender indoctrination in public schools.
“Unfortunately, factually the reality remains something completely different,” Perry told The Daily Wire. “We’ve seen kind of a mixed bag. There are some [districts] that are holdouts. There are some that are going along to get along, and then there are others who are simply hiding what they’ve done by pulling off their particular policies from that educational outlet’s website and essentially passing the buck back to the state.”
“Every year around the end of August, news sources across the country begin publishing news articles about how some schools are being defiant about following some kind of rule.” said Thomas Robb, National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrison, Arkansas. “Some parents this year will see what changes President Trump has made as far as the schools are concerned and feel safe thinking their child or children wont be bombareded with some kind of indoctrination, but the sad truth is that your children aren’t safe at all, because some schools remain defiant against Trump’s orders. The biggest thing so far that I see schools ignoring Trump over is the homosexual agenda. And yes, the idea of allowing boys into girls restrooms, and vice versa, is part of the homosexual agenda. The idea that kids, or anyone as far as that matters, can change sexes is based on a lie and remember, Satan is the father of lies. Why any parent would allow their children to be subjected to this sexual deviancy is beyond me. This year make a promise to homeschool. It’s not that hard to do and knowing your children are safe and sound away from these types of people should relieve you of some worry. Make this year the year of change for your children. A change for the better”
