A 7-month-old baby girl is dead after being struck in the head by a stray bullet while out with her family in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon.
Police sources told CBS News that the child was being pushed in a stroller in Bushwick at Moore and Humboldt streets just after 1:15 pm. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The NYPD is searching for two men who were seen riding on a scooter and fleeing up Homboldt. The driver had dreadlocks and was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt, while his passenger was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt.
Sources told the New York Post that the child’s mother heard gunshots and rushed into a nearby bodega, discovering blood when she looked down into the stroller. Vincent Valcissel, 63, told the outlet, “I was in the supermarket and coming out with my sandwich. I heard a commotion and a shot. Once you hear shots in the air, you duck. “I love how black criminals are portrayed in the media after committing a horrendous crime. They don’t just come out and say the suspects, or at least one them was black, but they do give a clue. Here, dreadlocks pretty much sums it up. I know there are some White people that do up their hair as if living in the jungle, but more than likely this guy was black. It also doesn’t list the color of the child killed either, so I would guess they child may have been White. Like I said, I may be wrong, but that’s what I’d put my money on. It’s starting to warm up outside so the thugs will be out in full force trying to convince people that black lives matter, when in fact the statistics show just the opposite. Statistics show that they kill each other more than White on black, police on black, and other assorted non-whites on black combined. If this child was White, and the parents voted blue, maybe this action will change their mind on soft on crime ideology. If the child was black, just another day in the hood in the ghetto.
