COVID gets blamed for everything. The Federalist, on Monday, November 28th., ran this headline, “Covid Learning Loss Could Cost American Kids $900 Billion In Lost Income.”
Shortly after the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) testing results showed dramatic learning loss by American youth during the coronavirus pandemic, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten attempted to grant herself absolution for the lengthy Covid lockdowns of schools. But a series of new studies demonstrate exactly how much those lockdowns could cost the next generation of American students.
The studies use both current NAEP data and studies from prior years to show that the learning loss associated with the pandemic, if not remedied, could lead to approximately $900 billion in lower earnings for public school students. Worse yet, the effects will likely hit low-income families hardest — a perfect example of how seemingly well-intentioned leftist policies have the effect of keeping poor families poor.
National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, headquarted in Harrison, Arkansas, Thomas Robb said, “Covid is far from the reason today’s generation will have $900 billion dollars in lower earnings. The public school closures over Covid was the silver lining of this Chinese flu. It got them out of the indoctrination machine for awhile, and it has shown parents that they can homeschool. The real reason, and I don’t know where this $900 billion dollar number came from, but I’m sure today’s generation, when they hit the workforce, they won’t be making as much money as earlier generations. Why? Because the Critical Race Theory and homosexual indoctrination they’re receiving now, will have no impact in the workforce. It gave these children no useful tools to take with them in life. I recently saw an article that they want to get rid of the SAT testing as well. Listen, it’s not rocket science, if the school systems want to dumb down little White Mary to the levels of dumb black Toby, just to make them equal, of course today’s children won’t have the earning capacity of earlier generations. Again, why? because they’ll all be dumb!”
