Whoa….just wait a minute, is this what I think it is? On Friday, April 4. 2025, Fox News published an article headlined, “Obama urges Americans to ‘possibly sacrifice’ in resisting Trump policies.”
Former President Barack Obama told a crowd Thursday night that some sacrifice might be necessary in order to resist President Donald Trump’s policies.
Obama spoke at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, on Thursday and accused the Trump administration of trying to destroy the post-World War II international order, according to the Washington Post.
During the speech, Obama called Trump’s behavior “contrary to the basic compact we have as Americans” and called on students to do more in order to resist Trump’s policies.
“It has been easy during most of our lifetimes to say you are a progressive, or say you are for social justice, or say you are for free speech, and not have to pay a price for it…And now we’re in one of those moments when…it’s not enough just to say you’re for something. You may actually have to do something and possibly sacrifice a little bit,” Obama said.
Obama also said law firms and universities need to take a more active role in resisting Trump, arguing there would be massive pushback if he tried to sanction law firms.
“It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me or a whole bunch of my predecessors,” Obama said.
Obama said he is “deeply concerned with a federal government that threatens universities if they don’t give up students who are exercising their right to free speech.”
“Why is Barack Obama even relevant today? ” asked Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based in Harrison, Arkansas with members throughout America. “I had to Google what position Barack Obama held in our government. I mean he sticks his nose in and gives his two cents on everything President Trump does. In this instance, what Obama is ‘hinting’ at, and it reminds me of Martin Luther King and one of his tactics, is for college students to rise up against our government. Kind of like President Trump was blamed for over the January 6. 2021 protests. What sacrifice is Obama talking about? Jail time for rioting? Or far worse, is he telling these college students that they may have to sacrifice their lives to promote Obama’s agenda of ‘changing’ America? In a Commemorative issue of Time Magazine in 2008, the then President elect, Barack Obama said, ‘Change Has Come to America’. Well, a change for the better is taking place right now, in warp speed. The swamp is draining, so you would think Obama would be happy right? The changes that will eventually come of President Trump’s actions now, will better America for a long time, in the long run. Instead of trying to incite riots, Obama should be telling the young people about the sacrifices that our forefathers made for America. Sometimes people only look at right now, in the moment, but any lasting change for the better is going to cost us all a sacrifice in order to re-build and return our once strong country to its former glory.”
