Another win for Trump! On Tuesday, July 22. 2025, The Hill ran this headline, “Trump says media ‘on notice’ after Paramount, ABC settlements.”
President Trump on Tuesday boasted he had put mainstream media outlets “on notice” following a pair of high-profile settlements paid to his foundation by major news networks in recent months to settle lawsuits he has brought against them.
“Just like ABC and George Slopadopoulos, CBS and its Corporate Owners knew that they defrauded the American People, and were desperate to settle,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “This is another in a long line of VICTORIES over the Fake News Media, who we are holding to account for their widespread fraud and deceit.”
Trump claimed he would also receive “$20 Million Dollars more from the new Owners,” in regard to Paramount’s pending merger with Skydance, value he said would be paid “in Advertising, PSAs, or similar Programming, for a total of over $36 Million Dollars.”
Paramount has previously denied agreeing to pay anything more than the $16 million it announced publicly earlier this month, and a representative for the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump’s Truth Social post.
In December, ABC agreed to pay Trump’s presidential foundation more than $15 million to settle a lawsuit he brought against the network over a segment that aired on ABC’s “This Week.”
Paramount’s settlement came just days before CBS announced it would cancel “The Late Show” and fire comedian Stephen Colbert, a decision the company called financial last week and a move that is being widely viewed by critics as a capitulation to Trump.
“It’s about time someone steps up to these radical Leftist news networks.” said Thomas Robb, National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based in Harrison, Arkansas. “The media picked the wrong person to mess with because President Trump has the money to sue their pants off, and that’s exactly what he did. There’s been a lot of corruption that’s coming to light lately. I’m hoping Barack Obama ends up in prison for his attempt at to keep President Trump from winning the election in 2016 and 2020. Obama recently said. ‘“I can assure the public that there was not the kind of tampering with the voting process that was of concern … ‘. So he admits there was tampering, but not of concern to the American public. I think any kind of tampering is illegal. Trump has exposed so many people for their involvememt in lying to American citizens from Hillary, Fauci, Biden, and now Obama. As far as Stephen Colbert, it’s about time someone shut him up. There’s quite a few more that need it too. The Left claims that Trump exposing these liars is an attempt from him to divert attention away from the Epstein files, but I think it’s just the opposite. I could be wrong, but I think the Left is using the Epstein files to divert President Trump’s actions of draining the swamp, and showing American citizens just how much the Left has lied to them. Like I said, I could be wrong, but we’ll have to see how this plays out.”
