Of all the different races that have been held as slaves in one country or another, why is it that only the black race deserves reparations? Breitbart News published this article on Monday, December 5th. headlined, “California, a Free State Since 1850, May Pay $233k in Reparations per Slavery Descendant.”
The State of California could be facing $233,000 in reparations for each black resident who qualifies as a descendant of African American slaves, according to a consulting report prepared for a special state panel.
As Breitbart News has been reporting since 2020, the Golden State is considering reparations under a law signed that year by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) — though California entered the Union in 1850 as a free state:
The panel — which is not representative of the state, but composed primarily of black members — voted 5-4 to limit reparations to descendants of slavery, and issued recommendations that include separate black schools.
There is broad public support in California for restoring property unjustly taken from black owners, as in the case of Bruce’s Beach, which has been restored to the heirs of a the couple from whom it was taken in the 1920.
However, there is limited support for reparations in a general sense.
The National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based in Harrison, Arkansas, Thomas Robb said, “I agree 100% that blacks deserve reparations, but not from us. Here’s the facts, black slaves were purchased from black slave owners in Africa. As well, they were brought here on jewish ships, not White American ones. Also, there were black slave owners here in America too. I’ll bet most people don’t know that. There were Irish slaves in America too, and they were treated worse than the black ones. So to make reparations fair, White Americans don’t owe the blacks a penny. Their African government that sold them into slavery owes them reparations. As one last favor to the blacks in America who believe they’re owed reparations, we should give each and every one of them free, one-way airfare back to their motherland to collect them. Any takers?”
