Knights Party Press Release: Feb. 22. 2023

Just when you think you’ve heard the most ridiculous claim ever made, along comes this article from Fox News, published on Sunday, February 19th., headlined, “Middle school teacher claims it’s ‘white supremacy’ to oppose thievery: ‘Burn this mother f*cker to the ground’.”

A pro-Black Lives Matter Maryland teacher, who admitted to intentionally concealing students’ gender changes, has a history of extreme statements excusing property destruction and theft. The district told Fox News Monday they were looking into the matter.

Lane Cogdill works at Silver Spring International Middle School in the Montgomery County Public Schools District, according to its website. The teacher uses “ze/zir,” “they/them” and “he/him” pronouns. Fox News Digital repeatedly inquired from the district for comment about the remarks, but they did not respond.

“Hey, I got some thoughts about what’s going on in the world,” Cogdill said in 2020. “As a history teacher who cares about racial justice, I keep hearing people saying, like, ‘I understand protesting, but I don’t understand rioting and looting.’ Let me just remind y’all, this country was literally built by Black people.”

Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, based out of Harrison, Arkansas said, “This almost makes me want to chuckle. America built by blacks? How in the world can they make such a claim? Our White forefathers started the foundation of America, and of course, many people were involved in building America as well, but blacks certainly were not. They were given work to do, and most people think all they did was pick cotton, but that isn’t so. On larger plantations, masters relied on slave carpenters, bricklayers, blacksmiths, wheelwrights, tanners, tailors, butchers, masons, coopers, cabinet makers, metal workers, and silversmiths. Large numbers also worked as boatmen, waiters, cooks, drivers, housemaids, spinners, and weavers. But the thing is, they had to be forced to work. White Europeans came here eager to work, and by blood, sweat, tears, that’s who started to build America, not blacks. Today blacks are the same. White men and women build, and blacks destroy what White men and women built. If blacks were capable of building a civilized society, why aren’t black countries thriving? Today’s times are much like the days of slavery, as in many didn’t want to work then, and many still do not want to work today. And who takes care of the ones who refuse to work? White people do, with our hard earned tax dollars. There aren’t enough out of the 13% that do work, to cover the costs of the ones that don’t. I wouldn’t call that building America. I would call that being a burden to America.”
