Some Venezuelan migrants who trekked thousands of miles to the US in search of a better life are so disheartened they say they’re already heading back home.
Michael Castejon, 39, told the Chicago Tribune he has had enough after he, his wife and teenage stepdaughter spent five months sleeping either in a police precinct or a crowded city shelter in the now-brutally cold Windy City.
He’s also been unable to secure a job permit or enroll his daughter in a local school — two of the main reasons things they thought would bring a better life in the US.
“The American Dream doesn’t exist anymore,” Castejon told the paper on the eve of his family’s departure.
“There’s nothing here for us … We just want to be home,” Castejon told the Tribune of the South American country he earlier fled.
“If we’re going to be sleeping in the streets here, we’d rather be sleeping in the streets over there.”
“Maybe check into the places you intend to invade first”, said Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrison, Arkansas. “America has long been strained of resources due to the burden of non-whites that we already have in America. Joe Biden offered these people something we don’t have, and that’s resources to care for them. Right now, we can’t even take care of our own White, Christian people. These invaders arrived here looking for a life our own citizens can’t afford. We have our own people die in the Summer heat, and freeze to death in the cold of Winter. Many citizens have to pick either food on the table or life saving medicines. Unfortunately, some only take half their medication, and eat things such as dog food to survive. This is a sad reality. Our government needs to put our White, Christian citizens ahead of anyone else. Afterall, America is a White, Christian Nation. Hopefully word gets out to these 3rd World countries that we’re no better off here than they are. America has been raped of resources for our own people because of our non-white population straining our system. This migrant is correct, ‘There’s nothing here for you’.”
