The time of reckoning is coming. On Friday, April 19th., Fox News ran this disturbing headline, “Chinese hackers preparing to ‘physically wreak havoc’ on US critical infrastructure.”
Chinese hackers are developing the “ability to physically wreak havoc on our critical infrastructure at a time of its choosing,” FBI director Christopher Wray said this week.
He added that the hackers are waiting “for just the right moment to deal a devastating blow.”
The hacking campaign, known as Volt Typhoon, has embedded itself successfully in several American critical infrastructure companies that include telecommunications, energy and water, and others, he said.
“Its plan is to land low blows against civilian infrastructure to try to induce panic,” Wray said Thursday at the 2024 Vanderbilt Summit on Modern Conflict and Emerging Threats.
A Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said this week that Volt Typhoon is part of a criminal ramsonware group and is not related to the government.
“Some in the US have been using origin-tracing of cyberattacks as a tool to hit and frame China, claiming the US to be the victim while it’s the other way round, and politicizing cybersecurity issues,” the Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C. said in a separate statement.
“I find it hard to believe anything that comes from our enemies mouth, especially after COVID-19”, said Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrison, Arkansas. “This isn’t new news. These attacks have been taking place for some time now. Remember back about a month or so ago when Verizon, among other phone carriers lost service for a period of time? What do you think the chances are that all these phone carriers infrastructure failed on the same day, at exactly the same time? Not highly likely in my opinion. I also remember seeing recently that the CCP was being blamed for some kind of disruption in a water supply somewhere in America already. We have the CCP building battery plants in America, the CCP owns farmland in America, and I recently read an article where the CCP was going to evict a US citizen off their property! And for some reason, people just can’t keep their fingers off of Tik Tok, a CCP owned Social Media source! So, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that China is on the cusp of delivering blows to civilian infrastructure here in America. After all, we allowed it.”
