American made…American pride..On Wednesday, July 9. 2025, Hot Air ran the following headline, “Jobs for Americans Up, Jobs for Immigrants Down.”
One of the most striking statistics to emerge during the Biden administration was the ratio of jobs created by American citizens and those filled by immigrants. While the claim that all the new jobs went to immigrants is an exaggeration, indeed, immigrants filled more than twice as many new jobs as their proportion of the population would have predicted.
According to CNN, in Biden’s first 3 1/2 years in office (this is when their fact check of Trump was published), under Biden, foreign-born workers outpaced native-born workers in filling jobs:
Here’s what the Bureau of Labor Statistics data show: Some 130.4 million native-born people were employed in May. That’s an increase of nearly 4.5 million since May 2021, shortly after Biden took office, though it’s down nearly 300,000 from May 2023. (The data is not seasonally adjusted, so we must look at the same month in each year for an accurate comparison. In January 2021, about 123 million native-born people were employed.)
Roughly 30.9 million foreign-born people held jobs in May, up 5.1 million from May 2021 and 637,000 since May 2023. (In January 2021, 25.3 million of the foreign-born were employed.)
Late in Biden’s term, jobs for Americans declined, and jobs for foreign-born workers increased, suggesting that the longer Biden kept the border open, the more jobs immigrants took from Americans.
In other words, immigrants indeed filled many jobs that would otherwise have gone to Americans, and this obviously had the effect of holding down wages. Given that 16% of the US population is foreign-born, that’s a pretty startling statistic. No matter how much you hem and haw about demographics or “jobs Americans won’t do,” when 16% of the population snags over half the new jobs, it should shock you.
“When I think American made, I think of hard working White men and women making whatever the item it is.” Thomas Robb, National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrison, Arkansas. “The same for products that come from America’s farms. I realize that the farmers took a hit when their illegals were rounded up and sent back to where they belong, but these illegals should have never had the job to being with. Obama and Biden made it easy for White Americans to stay at home and collect money. Who ddin’t think all the freebies were nice? Our government made it look like they swooped in and saved the day when Covid it. People were told not to pay their rent, businesses were closed down, and people collecting unemployment were given more money than they made working, welfare recipients even made out. Some folks got to work from home. But there were devious intentions for what you thought was a gift from Uncle Sam. People weren’t told that sooner or later the rent would come due, plus all the months they hadn’t paid. Homelessness skyrocketed because people couldn’t pay what they owed. Once people were told that they couldn’t work from home in their pajamas, they quit out of spite. Then here came the illegals more than willing to take the jobs Americans didn’t want. We can thank President Trump for giving these jobs back. Hopefully hard working White America will regain the pride they once had. Farm jobs should be given to able bodied people collecting welfare. Welfare wasn’t created as a career. If they don’t want to work, well then they shouldn’t eat. Many people are mad at Trump for some of the things he’s doing, and some things should make us mad, but people didn’t realize how dependent they were becoming on the government until change started. We need to get our feeling of pride back. Our pride in what we do is what built America.”
