A striking image of a tangled US flag that appears to resemble an angel has the internet convinced that former President Donald Trump was protected by a higher power when a deranged shooter tried to assassinate him at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday.
Video shared online shows Old Glory twisted into a distinctive silhouette, sending attendees and social media commentators into a spin.
“The flag got tangled today at the Trump rally before Trump came on stage. Looks like an angel,” X user @TheWakeninq wrote on the social media site alongside a clip of the flag moving in the wind.
The spectacular video, which has been viewed more than 8 million times, quickly drew hundreds of comments from people convinced it was a sign.
“The Holy Spirit was definitely there protecting him yesterday,” one person responded.
“We are living in historic times! The fingerprints of the divine all over,” another echoed.
“I just got goosebumps,” a third user admitted.
Others, meanwhile, contended that the flag looked like a bald eagle — America’s national bird symbolizing strength and freedom.
“I saw an eagle first – GOD BLESS AMERICA,” an X user commented.
“Looks like a giant beautiful bald eagle also,” another said.
“Although I don’t see either, an angel or an eagle, I’d go with an eagle over divine intervention.”, said Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrison, Arkansas. “It was a miracle Donald Trump was not hit, but I don’t think it was a miracle from God. I saw an article that said that Thomas Matthew Crooks tried out for the Rifle Team in his Freshman year of High School, but he was denied a spot on the team because he was a lousy shot. Maybe that’s what saved Donald Trump’s life? The reason I say that I don’t think it was divine intervention is because, and I may upset some people, but the truth is the truth, Donald Trump is NOT the savior of America. On Election Day in America we have to go to the polls and vote for the lesser of two evils. That being said, Donald Trump is certainly the lesser of two evils, but he most definitely is not America’s savior. Until we have a President that is willing to return America back into the country that our forefathers created, and intended America to remain, we will not find peace within our country. Our forefathers were against homosexuality and miscegenation (race-mixing) because God said it was a sin in the Bible, and our forefathers were not afraid to say it, and implement God’s word into America’s laws. At one time, our laws were not really our laws, they were God’s. White people in America need to get on their knees and pray for forgiveness for allowing America to fall into such an abomination. If we can have a gathering our people, and start a White, Christian Revival from North to South, and East to West, we will once again fall into God’s favor, and the rest will fall into place under God’s divine intentions.”
