Who are the homeless? On New Year’s Day, The Christian Post ran the following headline, “Homelessness in US soars, tops over 770K due to illegal immigration.”
Immigrants who entered the United States unlawfully contributed to the highest level of homelessness on record, with the number topping 770,000 in 2024, according to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The department’s report, released in December, measured the number of homeless people in the U.S. at 771,480 in January 2024. This marked an 18% increase from the 653,104 individuals experiencing homelessness in the U.S. in 2023 and the largest since HUD began tracking homelessness in 2005.
While HUD cited several reasons for the increase, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2023 Maui fires, much of the growth occurred in parts of the country overwhelmed by the volume of illegal immigrants seeking access to shelter systems.
In response to rising levels of illegal border crossings during the Biden-Harris administration, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent immigrants to sanctuary cities, including New York City, Chicago and Denver. Reports emerged of the cities using airports, police stations and local schools to house immigrants, which politicians said was the result of a lack of space at homeless shelters.
In the 13 communities that reported the impact of illegal migration to HUD, family homelessness more than doubled, according to the report. HUD compared this to the other 373 communities included in the report, where family homelessness was reportedly less than 8%.
“The homeless…the homeless, I’m sick and tired of hearing about it.”, said Thomas Robb, the National Director of the Knights Party of the Ku Klux Klan, centrally based in Harrirson, Arkansas. “Let me explain why I make such a bold statement. Everywhere you see news about America’s homeless crisis, there’s a picture of one of these non-white invaders. This is a ploy to pull on the heartstrings of White American citizens. Our government wants to make it look like it’s the fault of White citizens that there is such a big homeless population in America, when in fact, most of the homeless population is White! How can our government talk about the homeless when they in fact caused it? White homeless people were pushed from shelters to accommodate these non-white invaders. This is how stupid our government thinks we are, they talk about homeless people, they even show them on the street covered in rags to keep warm, and then the next new article on TV is showing how these non-white invaders are tearing up the 4 and 5 star hotels that we put them in. I wouldn’t call living in a 4 or 5 star hotel being homeless, would you? If we were to pull back the rags the homeless on the street are covered in for warmth, we would find our veterans, and down and out White workers who lost their jobs due to the economy, and were then replaced by these invaders. America does have a homeless crisis, there’s no denying that, but don’t be mislead, it’s not these non-white invaders living in cardboard boxes, it’s our citizens.”
