The Brigham Young Kennedy Center for International Studies hosted a panel featuring five black women discussing race and immigration. Outrage ensues when four white students win MLK Jr. Day essay contest at University of Montana. The University of Montana has very few black students because Montana has very few black people, and this demographic profile created some issues. When four white students were announced as the winners of the MLK essay contest, students and other observers claimed racism was the reason for only White students being recognized as the winners. Back in October of 2019, The Blaze ran a story about a divorced couple in Texas, Jeffery Younger and Anne Georgulas, in which Georgulas was given sole conservatorship and was giving her son James puberty blocking hormones in order to transition James into a female. In November, a transgender flag was flown over the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines causing an ire reaction from citizens throughout the state. Republican law makers responded by presenting a bill that on Monday (Jan 17) moved from subcommittee to a full committee for consideration.
